Panels detailing information about specific sections of the Sto Lat! Exhibit held at St. Michael's Polish Benefit Society Hall (the Polish Village) in the summer of 2013 during the centenary celebrations of the Polish community.
The Pogoria Polish Folk Ensemble was founded in 2003, by director Shari Mckay, at the behest of the parish priest at that time. The ensemble performs regularly at parish events and festivities, as well as organizing dinner theatre plays at the Polish Village. They practice and perform most often at St. Michael's Benefit Society Hall (the Polish Village).
Pomorze, one of Nova Scotia's Polish Dance Ensembles, was established in 1983. The ensemble has grown from a small group of enthusiasts to an organized company with a full repertoire. They are a not-for-profit, charitable organization with a mission to preserve and promote Polish culture through song and dance. Visit their webpage ( http://pomorzedance.com/ ).
Sto Lat! The First Century of St. Mary's Polish Parish was an exhibit presented during the centenary celebrations of the Polish community in Cape Breton in the summer of 2013. The exhibit was held in the newly renovated basement of St. Michael's Polish Benefit Society (the Polish Village) as an anniversary event. Many of the items were donated by members of the community.
